Marion Hungry Mothers to Host Independence Weekend Fireworks Game on July 5
The Marion Hungry Mothers will celebrate Independence Day weekend with an evening of baseball and fireworks on Sunday, July 5, at Hurricane Stadium.
The Hungry Mothers will host Blue Ridge League rival the Carolina Disco Turkeys at 6:30 p.m., with a fireworks display to follow immediately after the game presented by Smyth County and the Town of Marion.
The fireworks will be set off near Marion Senior High School, with the best viewing available from inside Hurricane Stadium, the summer home of the Hungry Mothers.
Tickets are required to view the fireworks from Hurricane Stadium or the Marion Senior High School parking lot. Tickets are $8 at the door, with discounted tickets available online at hungrymothersbaseball.com. Kids 3 and under are admitted free.
Parking for the baseball game will be available at the Senior Lot along Stage Street and the Student Lot on Stadium Road. Town and County officials will close certain areas near the high school to create a safety zone for the fireworks display. Those not attending the game are encouraged to view the fireworks from one of the various parking lots along Lee Highway/North Main Street.
Concessions will be available during the game. No outside food or drink is permitted inside the stadium.
